Previously, we designed a compact anti-rotation cylinder, but this structure may not be suitable for larger cylinders. A client ordered a batch of anti-rotation cylinders for discharged valves, with a bore size of φ100mm and a stroke of 420mm. Based on their requirements, we developed a new anti-rotation structure.
Due to installation constraints, the cylinder end cap needed to be circular and secured through a bracket. The piston was designed in a split structure, with the front part threaded onto the piston rod and the rear part locked with the rod’s slot for a secure connection.
To achieve the anti-rotation function, we adopted a hollow piston rod + square rod limiting structure. The rear end cap omitted air cushioning, featuring a bottom air inlet and a central mounting hole for connecting the fixed square rod. During cylinder operation, the square rod restricts the rotation of the brass sleeve, ensuring that the piston rod remains non-rotating.
The first batch of six samples passed dimensional, airtightness, and functional tests. After successful client trials, they provided positive feedback and placed additional orders, leading to further collaboration. This design offers a reliable solution for large-sized anti-rotation cylinders.
