A manifold is an integrated control device that combines multiple valves, pipelines, and accessories. It enables the switching, distribution, control, and regulation of airflow between multiple pipelines.
In simple terms, a manifold is a system where the pneumatic circuit is integrated and then equipped with components such as solenoid valves, pilot guide heads, pressure gauges, and other external parts. By combining different valves, it controls the flow of air in the circuit to achieve specific control functions.
Here is a successful case presentation of Fokca customized manifold:
A customer asked us to design a manifold for their existing system, which would include solenoid valves, pilot heads, and other accessories to control the on/off of the pneumatic circuit.
After thorough communication and confirming their requirements, we quickly produced a sample that included a manifold, 3 pilot guide heads, and 3 coils. The positioning, size, thread type, and internal air hole on the manifold all met the customer's requirements.
After testing, we immediately sent the sample to the customer. After conducting their own tests, the customer confirmed that all the components were working well, but they raised two new issues:
◆ The customer requested that the internal air holes be designed larger to accommodate higher airflow.
◆ While our current coils worked well, the manifold's assembly interface was different, meaning our coils were incompatible with the customer's existing coils. The customer wanted us to resolve this issue and make it possible to use both coil types without changing the shape of the original sample's holes.
Upon receiving the feedback, our engineers quickly measured, calculated, and designed a preliminary solution. After further discussions and modifications of the plan, we provided the customer with our feedback.
Firstly, we expanded all the air holes to ensure that the airflow reached the required standard, and we removed any burrs from the holes.
Secondly, to address the coil compatibility issue, we developed a new accessory: an adapter. The inner thread of the adapter fits with the pilot guide head, and the outer thread fits with the manifold. By installing the adapter onto the manifold, it allows for compatibility with coils of different interfaces.
The adapter has two small holes, which can be used with a circlip plier for easy installation or removal. Additionally, two O-rings were added at the connection point between the adapter and the manifold to ensure airtightness.
Additionally, we cut a slot in the original pilot guide head to make it easier to install.
After further simplify the structure, we sent the revised sample to the customer. After testing, the customer confirmed that all parts were working perfectly and happily signed the first order.
